This past weekend my daughter Camilla celebrated her 2nd birthday and it was all I could do to keep it together at the thought of my baby growing one year closer to leaving me one day for some boy. Nevertheless the birthday princess needed a party and what’s more she needed to look good for it! To know Cami is to know that she LOVES all things Minnie Mouse, so a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party was a no-brainer.
I headed to GAP Kids on Market Street in the Woodlands, knowing that they always have such a great selection of trendy clothing for both girls and boys. I didn’t expect however that they would have a selection of clothing featuring the supporting character for Cami’s birthday, Minnie Mouse! With so many great options, I had a hard time narrowing down her outfit for the party, so I ended up purchasing a few pieces that I knew she would love. For the party she wore a pink Minnie flutter sleeve tee that I paired with bow print capris. I also got her some oatmeal colored Minnie leggings that will be perfect to jazz up her school uniform.
Because Camilla has a June birthday, by default she has taken to all things swim or “fim” as she would say. As one of her gifts I got her this super cute GAP Kids ruffle back Minnie and Daisy swim suit that she ended up wearing around the house all day long (not an easy battle to fight with a potty training 2 year old!)
Although I was shopping for the birthday girl, my eyes couldn’t help but wander over to the boy’s section. I just HAD to purchase a few little things for Cami’s baby brother arriving in October. When he gets here, I can’t wait to see him in this Star Wars tee and stud muffin sweatshirt! I can really get into this dressing boys thing!
On the day of the party Camilla was so comfortable and confident in her GAP Kids clothes and reminded Cameron and I several times of what a big girl she is now that she’s 2.
The Minnie Mouse theme ran through the entire party with a few simple decorations and sets of Minnie Mouse Ears for the girls and Mickey Ears for the boys. I have to say, that I was determined not to go overboard for this party as I did with her 1st birthday (#sorrynotsorry) and over all I think that mission was accomplished.
If your little girl is Minnie Mouse crazy like mine, I have included this free digital download for the “Twodles Thanks For Coming” gift bag tags that I created for Cami’s Minnie Mouse themed birthday party below. All you have to do is cut them out, hole punch the top, and tie them with twine around your favor bags. Subscribe below to instantly download your tags!
