Wowza! Summer has gotten off to a hot, hot, hot start for us here in Houston. You would think that after 33 summers I would be used to it but nothing could ever prepare you for the equal parts hot/humid summers of Houston, Texas. My main goal this summer is to come up with ways to keep the kids cool. I foresee a lot of days at the pool in our future! My second goal is to the beat the summer blues while I am cooped up at my desk 9-5. Music always helps my work days go by super fast, so I decided to seek out summer time tunes that will be my go-to for the next 3 months with 5 must listen to playlists for the summer.
To kick the hot summer off right I took to Spotify while I was at work last week and decided to find the hottest playlists for the summer I could find. Spotify did not disappoint! I have been listening to my list of favorites all week and although I may be at my 9 to 5 I am transported to a lazy beach somewhere in the Caribbean with my music.
I Immediately started dancing all alone in my office at the first song on the playlist and didn’t stop moving the duration of my time at the computer. From Pharrell, to Sia, to Zayn this playlist is chalk-full of artists I can get down with. I LOVE discovering new music and this playlist definitely caused me to search for new music from some of my fave artists.
This mix is great for a low-key kick-back with your friends at the pool. You will be dancing non-stop to the beats and I loved the diversity of artists on this summer playlist. Being a pop princess to my core, this compilation does not disappoint.
The Summer Hits playlist kicks off with a SUPER hot jam from Post Malone. Now, I have to admit that Post is sort of becoming a guilty pleasure of mine. He looks like a goofball but there is something so stinkin’ catchy about his voice and his music. So when I saw that the list started with Post, I immediately knew these summer songs were going to be legit! This list is great for a little bit more of a chill summer vibe. Less of a dance party and more of a head-bobber, haha!
This mix will take you back to summers 2-3 years back and I love it for that. When songs that I had forgotten about came on it immediately transported me to that time and what fun I had that year. From Calvin Harris, Flo Rida, M.I.A., to Bruno Mars, this slight throw back to summers past will keep you grooving through this summer.
Ok. First. I am *NSYNC for life. Second, I am all about sugary pop. This play list right here is going to get me all the way through summer work days. With each song from BSB, to Britney, to Destiny’s Child, and Mya I was surprised at how many words I still know. If you are a pop princess like me, you will THOROUGHLY enjoy this playlist. I saved the best for last on this one. I am completely obsessed with this play list, ya’ll!
