Ooooo weeeeee! What a week it’s been. Tensions are SUPER high in our country but we have to realize that life will and does go on. While we have all been glued to the TV looking at politics and ranting (or scrolling through rants) on social media I’d like to clue you in on a few sportsy things that have happened. I think we can all use a little light-hearted relief, wouldn’t you say? Here are a few things that happened somewhere between the last few debates and election day that your sports lover might have noticed, but may have escaped you.
1. Simone Biles Was In A Music Video With This Dweeb
If you know me, you know I love me some Simone Biles. I suppose when you are America’s Sweetheart and you win a gazillion Olympic medals people ask you to be in music videos. I don’t know who this Jake Miller guy is (which either he is fairly unknown or I am just old and out of touch with what the kids are listening to these days) but Simone is way too cool for him in this video. Not to mention she could probably bench press him. Whatever. She looks great.
2. The Chicago Cubs Won The World Series After 108 Years
People are un-done about the Chicago Cubs beating the Cleveland Indians in the 7th game and winning the World Series after 108 years. Although, I am not a fan of baseball and frankly I forget that it even exists, I loved seeing all of the reactions on the internet once I sifted through the election links. Here are a few of my faves!

3. Basketball Season Started
I’ve been “watching” basketball with Cameron since September, so this is not news to me really. Cameron loves watching basketball so our season starts early for pre-season. We watch the Houston Rockets mostly but sometimes we tune into other games with interesting match ups. We are not really college basketball fans but I am sure when March Madness rolls around your date nights might turn few and far between, so get them in now while it’s early, haha! Here is a little info about NCAA basketball if you or your boo are into it.
4. JJ Watt Got A Legit Girlfriend
While you guys are processing the results of the election I am coming to terms with the fact that JJ Watt has a girlfriend! Houston women, heck women country-wide have been trying to pin him down. I made promises to a few of my single girl friends that If I ever met him I would put in a good word. Well…keep the election tears flowin’ if you are hearing the news of JJ Watt’s girlfriend here first. This is not a drill and this is not that one time we thought he was canoodling with Kate Hudson. Kealia Ohai plays soccer for the Houston Dash (um…I didn’t even know we had a women’s soccer team but I guess she’s on it.) She is the sister-in-law of JJ’s fellow teammate Brian Cushing which I guess is how the hook up was initiated. Here is her picture so you don’t have to bother googling.
