Out of an abundance of fall decorations that I have collected throughout the years, I decided to do something with the extras. This year I not only decorated the common areas of our home, but I also decorated the kid’s rooms! Hendrix loved his spider webbed door and Cami thought her black cat decorations were awesome. And just like that I started getting excited about decorating the kid’s rooms for Christmas. With Christmas decorations out earlier this year, I was able to stock up on Christmas decor for my kid’s rooms.
Everything I needed for the kids room Christmas refresh was at Walmart. Walmart is a one-stop-shop for everything you need for holiday decor and more! I found the perfect flannel Christmas tree patterned sheet set and used that as the inspo for Hendrix’s room. Since he has bunkbeds, it called for me to need to get two of all his bedding. I found a great comforter for under $30 that was an excellent match to the Christmas tree sheets. To complete the bedding look I added texture with a plaid sherpa blanket and faux fur throw pillow. These were great additions and made the space feel warm and cozy for the cold winter nights ahead.
Hendrix’s eyes lit up when he saw his very own Christmas tree in his room and lights around his bed. If your child has a bunk bed, stringing lights between the slats of the upper bunk is a very easy way to add a little touch of Christmas. I chose a flocked tree that I found at Walmart for under $30. The flocked tree adds texture and goes with the “woodland” Christmas theme in Hendrix’s room.
Cami is all about rainbows and bright colors. When I saw the rainbow tree at Walmart for under $30, I knew I needed it for Cami’s Christmas room decor. For her bedding I went with snow white comforters and micro-fiber sheets in a snowman print.
Of course we had to go with multi-colored lights for Cami’s bunkbed too! She is so excited to have friends over to hang out under the lights over Christmas break! She has already made the space on the bottom bunk her reading nook as she snuggles under her sherpa blanket.
With only 8 more weeks until Christmas now is the perfect time to start thinking about how you are going to shake things up this Christmas. After seeing the joy on my kid’s faces when they walked into their rooms decorated for Christmas, I knew this would be a tradition that will carry on as hey grow.
