Last weekend the fantasy draft kicked-off the official start of football season. I don’t care much about fantasy football, and have lost track of what has been going on with football in general since the pandemic. What I DO care about is the party part, haha! Tailgating and homegating looks a lot different these days but I’m still down for the celebration. This year we kicked it off with a Touchdowns & Tacos low-key spread for the start of football season.
Get All The Fixin’s
One thing I love about a taco bar is the variety of colors and items that can be put on a taco. Leave items available that are as unique as your guests taste. Some great suggestions would be: beef, chicken, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, avocados, sour cream, onions, Spanish rice, refried beans, cilantro, and queso.
Keep It Finger Food Friendly
Having a taco themed tailgate or homegate means almost everything is finger-food friendly. Even the things that you can pair with your tacos such as corn on the cob, chips and guac, and jalapeño poppers are all great finger foods to serve for your tailgate and tacos watch party. Who needs cutlery anyway?!
Keep The Beverages Cold And On Theme
Serving Mexican beer is a no-brainer when you are throwing a taco-anything party. For then non-alcoholic beverages, why not serve sparking mineral water garnished with limes? A twist of lime instantly elevates when it comes to Mexican food and flavors.
Changing your tailgate party up from the usual hamburger and hotdog offerings to tacos is a definite “must do” this season. Cheers to the success of your favorite team and cheers to Touchdowns & Tacos!
