Last night I waited patiently for the latest from the school board concerning Cami’s back to school update. It looks like they are pushing the school year back a few more weeks. As a way to get her mind off of all the things she can’t do now, I started encouraging her with what she CAN do to prepare for back to school while we wait.
I love seeing all of the kid’s back to school pictures all over social media. Everyone is so bight-eyed and excited rocking their new school clothes. Cami started Pre-K two weeks ago and just like all the other parents, I was trying to get her to stand still for one good picture to post with anticipation of doing a side-by-side at the end of the year. These first two weeks have allowed us to fully get out of the summer haze and into a good school routine. With Kindergarten on the horizon I am making sure that we start getting in a rhythm now to create good habits for a successful year. Here are 3 ways we are making sure Cami starts off strong for the new school year that have helped her first few weeks go smoothly.
Camilla is beginning her last year in Pre-K this year and then it’s off to big school (which I can’t even wrap my mind around how I am going to just drop her off at somebody’s elementary school!). For now Cami is rockin’ the hallway of her preparatory academy Pre-K wing and she is doing it in style! Just because most days she has to wear a uniform to school, doesn’t mean she has to be boring!
