Since you probably don’t follow sports your repertoire on sports figures that you know is probably very limited. Three years ago this was my list:

- Michael Phelps
- Serena & Venus Williams
Yep. That about summed it up of sports people I knew. Like I mentioned in my last post, I sort of kicked it up a notch when my husband started all of the sudden getting into sports. Over the last few years one name keeps popping up in the world of NBA and that is Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors. You too may have heard this name before whether you were just passing through the living room while your man was watching ESPN or perhaps while you were minding your own business at the mall and happened to see this…
Although, not Space Jam the sequel status just yet, Steph (Stephan) Curry is a name that you definitely want to add to your sports folk knowledge-base and if you do, you will probably really impress some people! Try it out with these 4 not really sports related tidbits about Steph Curry with some of the guys around the water cooler tomorrow and see if you don’t get a fist bump or two.
1. He’s Like, Really Good!
Without getting into stats, that frankly, I don’t know, I DO know that when he shoots the ball, he usually makes it in the basket. He is a freak of nature leaving people to just shake their heads when they watch him play.
This year is his second year in receiving the NBA MVP award which simply means that he is the best basketball player of all the players this year. If this was the Academy Awards, he would be the Leonardo DiCaprio this year. Here’s a bit of his acceptance speech from his first “Oscar” win for 2014-15…I mean…come on (swoon)!
2. Steph Curry= All Around Good Guy
He is 27 and has a baby face that looks like he’s 12! Steph is known for keeping his cool, staying humble, and putting faith and family first. Despite being the scrawny kid that no one really had confidence in, then, proving everyone wrong, he has kept a level head (which I am sure he has a good laugh about while rolling in his bathtub of $100 bills at night snickering at all the peeps who turned him down…
Steph Curry is one of those guys that people hate to love (which IDK why, just give him his props people) but he’s so stinking’ love-able which brings me to the next tidbit…
3. He Loves His Wife and They Are The COOLEST Couple Ever
As a rule of thumb I personally take marital relationships that are on display with a grain of salt. We all know that what we see in the public eye may not be the reality when the cameras are off. Heck, people that you see gushing on FB about their relationship are likely to have the worst marriages of us all! With that being said I truly believe that Steph and Ayesha Curry have a genuinely loving and supportive relationship. Here’s a picture montage to show you what I am talkin’ ’bout.
They have known each other since high school and met at their church youth group…of course (eye roll).
Steph is successful in his own right and so is his wife Ayesha with a very successful lifestyle and cooking blog and a cookbook coming out soon. They are supportive of one another endeavors.
Ayesha attends every game and travels with the team. For any of you moms out there, you know how hard it is to travel with kids, let a lone travel the better part of a year with them! I get in a panic over 2 or 3 days vacation with my husband and kid!
And they freakin’ have fun together!
4. Steph Curry (and Ayesha) Have Super Cute Kids
Their older daughter Riley pretty much is the boss of the whole family. Never mind that her dad just scored a ga-gillion points 20 minutes ago, all eyes are on her.
And baby number 2, Ryan, is adorable. And who doesn’t love a boy’s name that’s a girl’s name?!
Though your man may not admit it, he most likely has a man crush on Steph Curry, and it’s ok to be ok with that. As play-off season comes to a close you may hear Steph Curry’s name pop up more and more because he’s sure to do some outrageous, buzzer-beater type things that will be memed about and re-played over and over. Now you will know who they are talking about!
