My son Hendrix is 3 and-a-half and loves rolling around with his Australian Shepherd, Sadie. He’s come a long way, ya’ll! Last year we realized that he was scared of dogs. When we would visit friends with dogs, he would scream for fear of dogs jumping on him. When we had to quarantine last summer Cameron and I thought it would be a good idea to get Hendrix a puppy. This way he could grow with the dog and we had all the time in the world to train and be home with a pup. It worked like a charm and now Hendrix can’t get enough of any and every dog he comes across.
Our mini Australian Shepherd, Sadie, is 1 year old and such a good girl! Most of the time she thinks she is one of the kids and wants to be a part of everything that the kids are doing. Wherever we are, Sadie is always close by. Her favorite thing to do is walk to school each day as we take Cami to school so that she can be pet by the crossing guards.
Sadie is still a puppy and it’s important for her to stay mentally stimulated or else she gets into trouble. Target is our go-to store for pet products and is so convenient for online purchases. From play accessories, to grooming tools, to treats, and shampoo, Target has everything you need to keep your pet happy and healthy. Sadie can’t get enough of her Sun Squad and BARK toys from Target. They have the cutest dog toys that go with the seasons!
Sadie is always eager to please. Making sure we have fun (and durable) toys and dog treats has been key in her training. She loves the treats and we love to reward her!
Having a puppy can be challenging, but once you set expectations and your dogs knows their boundaries, it’s one of the most rewarding things you could ever do.
