Cameron and I both have our little “things” that we put our signature on around the house. There is a certain way that I fold shirts that is my “thing”, there is a certain way he makes coffee that is totally his “thing”. I make really good cornbread and he makes really great jalapeño ranch dip. If you have ever been to Chuy’s then you know that they are known for their jalapeño ranch dip. Cam took the challenge of recreating this amazingly creamy dip and has been making it consistently delicious for the past 3 years now. It is his go-to party food that everyone loves and knows as his “thing” (it also feeds an army). In light of it being National Taco Day (check out this recipe for my favorite chicken tacos here), I wanted to share Cameron’s jalapeño ranch dip recipe with ya’ll because not only does it go great with tortilla chips, but it’s also amazing to drizzle on top of a taco.
- 8 ounces mayonaise
- 24 ounces sour cream
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup tomatillo salsa
- 1 handful of cilantro
- 3 ranch dressing packets
- 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños
Blend everything up in a blender and call it a day!
I thought it would be more appropriate to have him demonstrate this recipe. While he’s doing his “thing” with the jalapeño ranch dip, I’m doing mine behind the camera, haha! Every now and then I can take some really in focus shots!
As you can see, when it’s all measured out your blender will be filled to the brim with creamy ranch goodness! This recipe is made to feed a crowd which is perfect for watch parties with lots of guests. If you would like to make a more family style portion, you can pair down the recipe by using 1 packet of ranch, 1/4 cup jalapeños, and 1/4 of the other listed ingredients.
One very important step you don’t want to leave out is taste testing, hehe!
And still more taste testing.
Perfection! And the chef was super hot too!
