One of the most memorable moments from The Oprah Winfrey Show was her “favorite things” episodes. During this episode, Oprah would review some of her favorite items, gadgets, and gifts of the year. The kicker was that everyone in the studio audience that day would get every item on her “favorite things” list. She would give everything from facial creams, to cars! You never knew when the “favorite things” taping would happen but I am sure people who had tickets to the show prayed that, THAT day would be their lucky day. I am no Oprah, but with the passing of my 35th birthday recently, I have gotten some of the most awesome gifts! I am not only going to share with you about my new favorite things, but I too have something fabulous to give away at the end of this post!
1. T-Shirt Quilt
I absolutely love the t-shirt quilt my husband had made for me! This queen-size quilt is made with 49 of my old t-shirts (some of them from elementary school) that I have kept all these years for sentimental reasons. From high school homecoming shirts, to mission trip tees, to concert keepsakes, my t-shirt quilt from Project Repat is one of my most cherished items right now. Previously tucked away in plastic bins I knew I wanted to do something to give my shirts a second life. Having this quilt made was the answer and from what I understand, the process was pretty easy in having it made.
2. “Hindsight” By Justin Timberlake
If you know me, then you know my love for Justin Timberlake runs deep. Like, back to when I was about 10 watching him on the Mickey Mouse Club…yeah. I have had *NSYNC purses and watches, JT concert t-shirts, and all of the albums. Naturally I was thrilled to know that he had written a book highlighting his career. More than just a coffee table book, Hindsight is the BEST gift for a true Justin Timblerlake fan.
3. Adidas Swift Run Kicks
These are THE MOST COMFORTABLE shoes I have ever owned. My dad bought these shoes for himself in 3 different colors. When I called him out on getting the same shoe x3, he told me to go try some on and if I thought they were the most comfortable shoes I had ever put on, then he would get them for me. Challenge Accepted! And here I am now singing their praises! Adidas Swift Runs are the real deal and have caused me to be an exclusively Adidas girl when it comes to athletic shoes.
4. Erin Condren Life Planner
I am a planner by nature. Also by nature I have a million post-its everywhere in my office with notes and agenda items for each day. It’s bad ya’ll. I decided I would finally do something about it! After a friend of mine raved about her Erin Condren planner, I decided I would gift it to myself in an effort to be a bit more organized with my busy life scheduling. I am so happy I did because I LOVE my Erin Condren Life Planner!
I chose the “life in little squares” cover option and picked some of my favorite pictures of the past year to style my planner cover. It was super easy to order and I am in love with the way it turned out. The personalization makes me want to grab my planner every day and organize my life! Not to mention, there are stickers galore to make planning and scheduling that much more fun. It is just the right size to toss in my work bag or grab on the go.
5. Foxy Hipster Studs
Well…you read #2 on my favorite things list so this shouldn’t be a surprise. While out with friends on my birthday I hit the jackpot when I found these earrings from Foxy Hipster. My husband and I are obsessed with “The Office” and have seen the series at least 7 times all the way through. The truth is, the shop had a hand-full of other characters from the series but I settled in on the Michael Scott studs. And of course I couldn’t pass up the JT earrings! My days are noticeably better when I have these babies on!
6. “Becoming” By Michelle Obama
Mom mom went to see Michelle Obama on her book tour recently and was so inspired by her story. I was thrilled when my mom gave me Michelle’s Book “Becoming” and I can’t wait to dive into it. Michelle Obama is such a beacon on beauty, intellect, kindness, and motherhood and I can’t wait to read about her journey.
