Olympics Inspired Drinks: All I Do Is Win Gold Medal Mango Margarita

When it comes to cocktails, I pretty much go with the mantra “the sweeter, the better”.  As I mentioned in my first Olympics Inspired Drinks post, (Rio De Ja-tini recipe here) I am more of a rum girl.  That being said I really enjoyed this margarita recipe that I am lovingly calling the “All I Do Is Win Gold Medal Mango Margarita”. I garnished this tasty drink with tajín, margarita salt, and lime.  Much like making the other cocktail that was filled with firsts, this was the first time that I had salted the rim of anything and I might have gotten a little over zealous with the tajín and salt (yowza!)  Usually I am one to always stick to the recipe because if I branch out, then I might mess something up.  On this one I had the nerve to get a little adventurous and in my quest to make this “girly” drink a little more manly for my husband’s liking I spiced the rim a little too much!  It definitely put a little hair on all of our chests, haha!  Stick with the recipe on this one ya’ll!

Once I got past my tajín fail and actually put the amount the recipe called for, I actually found this cocktail to be really refreshing and enjoyable!  Perfect for the hot summer days leading up to the Olympics if you are planning on spending the better half by the pool.  I am sure this will be a definite favorite at my Olympics watch party in August for the tequila lovers.

See, much better, haha!  Try the Olympics themed “All I Do Is Win Gold Medal Mango Margarita” sometime this summer before the Summer Olympics!  Test it out during a pool day with your friends.  More refreshing drink ideas to come of the non-alcoholic variety to please everyone at your upcoming Olympics watch party!  Cheers!

  1. I know that I should be looking at the drink but I was too distracted by your amazing arms! Teach me your ways and we can enjoy a margarita afterwards 😜
    1. Haha Erica! It's genetics. Nothing to teach. I actually try to stay away from arm exercises so I don't look like she-hulk, but let's meet up for margaritas sometime anyway!
