4 Ways to Survive The Toddler Transition

And just like that Hendrix is a full-blown toddler! It seems like it was just yesterday when I found out Hendrix was a boy. In a week Hendrix will be 2 and I find myself being sooooo cliché these days with thinking things like “where has the time gone” and “they grow up so fast”.  Even though these sentiments are felt deeply, I am realizing I don’t have time to think about where the time has gone because I’m now in full-blown #toddlermom mode! Although my instinct is to look at Hendrix like he’s still my little baby, the reality is (and he has no problem telling me) he’s a “big boy.” Because this is my second go-around there are a few things that I can glean from Camilla’s toddler-hood and apply to her brother with these 4 reminders to help survive the toddler transition.

Game Day Recipe: Football Deviled Eggs

Football season is here! I have to confess that as I have been thinking of what to serve at watch parties and tailgates, my thoughts immediately go to “How can I make this look like a football?” It’s been really fun trying new recipes and reimagining them into football shapes! Back To School: 3 Ways To Start Kids Of Strong For The New School Year

I love seeing all of the kid’s back to school pictures all over social media. Everyone is so bight-eyed and excited rocking their new school clothes. Cami started Pre-K two weeks ago and just like all the other parents, I was trying to get her to stand still for one good picture to post with anticipation of doing a side-by-side at the end of the year. These first two weeks have allowed us to fully get out of the summer haze and into a good school routine. With Kindergarten on the horizon I am making sure that we start getting in a rhythm now to create good habits for a successful year.  Here are 3 ways we are making sure Cami starts off strong for the new school year that have helped her first few weeks go smoothly.

Must Haves For An Expectant Mother

In my 35 years I have been to many-a baby shower. I have had 2 for my own babies, and I have hosted a handful myself. I have seen every theme under the sun and I have “ooo-ed” and “aww-ed” over the teeniest tiniest baby clothes out there! What I can tell you, as a former expectant mother, is that people don’t really get excited about getting the actual mother-to-be the gifts. Everyone focuses on the gadgets and gizmos, and wardrobe for the bundle of joy but forgets about the less glamorous things like, nipple cream. August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month and I thought it would be a great opportunity to round up a few must-haves that would be the perfect gift for an expectant mother!
