If there is one thing this pregnancy has taught me, it’s that being creative when it comes to dressing the bump is a must. I’ve stuck rubber bands in my pant button loops to add more room with my regular jeans, and I have shopped for regular size clothes and purposefully purchased one size up with the idea that I would tailor it down a size when pregnancy is over. I have also found that once the first trimester fog is over and you emerge from your cave of saltines, and ginger ale, sweat pants, and over-sized tees, you want to look cute again! I have found great success in shopping brands I love that have great pieces (mainly dresses) that can easily go from straight body types to maternity and back again. While doing a little shopping on Market Street in The Woodlands, I popped into Kate Spade (one of my favorite designers) and found the perfect versatile dress great for when I am bumpin’ it and when I am back to my normal size in a few months. This dress is perfect for anyone at any size and gives you 4 different looks in 1!
1.On Top of the Shoulders- Easy, breezy, slip it on and you are done!
2. Off-the-Shoulder- I’ve been living in this trend since the spring. Sometimes a girl just needs her shoulders to breathe!
Let’s pause right here and take in these adorable piñata earrings! The thing that I absolutely adore about Kate Spade is how quirky and fun her clothing and accessories are. If I could only have a wardrobe of 3 designers, she would be one of them!
3. One Shoulder On, One Shoulder Off- This is my favorite way to wear this dress. Something different than the typical off-the-shoulder but also fun and flirty.
4. The Tube- Perfect for date night!
To finish off the look, I wanted to keep it fun and casual. I am also living in flats these days for obvious reasons. When I discovered that Kate Spade had her own line of sparkly Keds, I was all about it! I hadn’t worn Keds since junior high, and when I put my black glittery Keds on at Kate, it was like giving a hug to a long lost friend, haha! Since my purchase there have maybe been 2 days that I haven’t worn them. I seriously love these kicks and the way it’s looking, I am going to have to purchase a few other colors!
